Strategy
Ferrata is a Hybrid Private Equity/ Hedge Fund firm. We pursue an event-driven investment
strategy on the hedge fund arm. We seek to achieve exceptional investment returns for our
limited partners through a concentrated portfolio where each security offers substantial upside

and has an identifiable catalyst for realizing value. We use a focused, hands-on approach informed by market insight and our
knowledge of corporate strategy. We invest at sensible prices in companies that offer value-creation through sustainable long
term growth, appropriate capital allocation, and superior cash flow generation. We place significant emphasis on securities
where value-creation will be enhanced by restructuring, recapitalization, divestitures and corporate finance activity. We invest
selectively around the world and across market capitalizations in our hunt for returns.
In our Private Equity business, we aspire to produce long term returns for our investors by purchasing companies at reasonable
prices and by adding value through improved strategy and operations. We apply some of the same skills and techniques drawn
from our banking background and used in our public company investments in Private Equity and therefore have a more selective
industry focus. We emphasis businesses with solid organic growth, low capital intensity, and high margins. Our targets are
attractive franchises in the digital media and luxury consumer areas.

Frank DeRose, founding partner, has an extensive background in investing, corporate finance and private equity. He has worked
at Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan/Chase, and Swiss Re, and brings 22 years of experience to Ferrata.
